Phu Fa

Northern Laos

For great views across town climb to the stupa-topped peak of Phu Fa (1625m); it's a punishing, tree-shaded climb of more than 400 stone steps. A ticket must be purchased on the last section of the ascent. An alternative descent returns to the Hat Sa road near a tea factory 2km east of town.

Cars and motorbikes can use the small road to the summit for an additional fee.
