At Zero George Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, guests can sign up for a number of bespoke experience packages, one of the most popular being the “Holy City Detox”, a programme that concentrates on wellness.

As well as taking part in fitness classes and dining on delicious, healthy food while there, the programme includes meal delivery when guests return home, helping them to keep up their good habits.

Created in association with yoga studio The Works and plant-based meal delivery company Sakara, the Holy City Detox plan includes individual and group fitness classes, dinner for two at the tasting menu concept Zero Restaurant + Bar with wine pairings, as well as a personally-curated meal plan by Sakara. Sarah Frick, founder of The Works sweat studio shares her knowledge of exercise with guests, while visitors also receive a copy of the cookbook One Part Plant, by local Charleston author Jessica Murnane.

As well as that, upon returning home, guests receive three days of organic meals delivered right to their door. According to the hotel, the idea came from wanting to keep visitors even after the trip.

“We are always thinking about the ‘afterglow’ of vacation and how we can make a great last impression and continue the vacation glow. We wanted to do a package that extended when guests get back home. In essence, you come to Zero and have a completely indulgent culinary experience and then you get “on track” with The Works and are already set up for success when you get home with Sakara. It alleviates the post-vacation blues and gives travellers something to look forward to when getting back from vacation,” Curry Uflacker, Easton Porter Group’s marketing director told Lonely Planet.
