Enid A Haupt Garden

Washington, DC

The lovely green space behind the Smithsonian Castle is actually a rooftop garden, with three peaceful sections: a Moon Gate garden inspired by a 15th-century Chinese temple, a Victorian-style parterre garden and a Moorish-style garden with a mosaic fountain modelled after those in the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. Shaded benches and tables dot the grounds, making this urban oasis a perfect picnic location.
