Yunnan Railways Museum

Adjacent to the North Railway Station, this admittedly niche museum uses artefacts and historical images to conduct visitors through a broad history of rail service in Yunnan, from the first French-built connection between Kunming and Vietnam through to modern pushes full-steam ahead into Laos and Myanmar under the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative.

There's also a nice coffee shop in one of the station's former waiting rooms just past the museum entrance.
