If you were lucky enough to own a car in East Germany, it would most likely have been a Trabant (Trabi for short), a tinny two-stroker whose name ("satellite" in English) was inspired by the launch of the Soviet Sputnik in 1956. They've all but disappeared from the streets, but they get star treatment in this small exhibit. Curiosities include rare wooden and racing versions, as well as a camper-van model.
