Thoreau Farm

Emerson cultivated a circle of like-minded friends who were also philosophers and freethinkers. Henry David Thoreau was born 2.4 miles east of Concord center at his grandmother's home at . The farmhouse is open for tours on weekends from May to October, but the Concord Museum has many more Thoreau artifacts, including his writing desk.
