Your Taj entry ticket also covers the Taj Museum, set in a pavilion to the west of the central pool in the Taj gardens. This small but well-laid-out museum has displays on the Taj and its construction. Look out for British-era sketches of the Taj and Agra, an impressive Mughal-era Taj floor plan and portraits of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal painted on ivory.
You'll also find some very well preserved gold and silver coins dating from the same period, and some celadon plates, said to split into pieces or change color if the food served on them contains poison.
