Inside the beautifully restored Fort Zeelandia, a pentagonal 17th-century fort built on the riverbank where the first colonists alighted, is the Stichting Surinaams Museum, which features colonial-era relics, period rooms and temporary exhibitions. All labeling is in Dutch. It's an interesting visit and you can enjoy some great river views from the ramparts.
