From Judy O'Shea's floating costumes to Wanxin Zhang's gas-masked clay warriors, artworks by California and international artists fill rotating gallery shows at this 8000-sq-ft modern- and contemporary-art museum (svma.org; adult/child/family $10/free/15) , dedicated to building community around art. Shows here are thoughtful and timely: after the 2017 fires, SVMA commissioned photographers to take portraits of anyone who wanted one – a symbolic but important gift to local families rebuilding their lives and homes in Sonoma.
