Sentralen

The Henrik Nissen–designed HQ of Christiania Sparebank opened in 1849, but in 2016 it was transformed into culture hot spot Sentralen, a spectacular mash of contemporary and traditional architecture. If you're not here for the restaurant, the cafe or the bars, it's still worth popping in for a poke around to look at the building itself, as well as installations by six Norwegian artists, including stained glass by Are Mokkelbost and a 10m-long mural by Vanessa Baird.
