Smile-inducing seahorses, ethereal jellyfish, sleek skates and a marine dinosaur skeleton that can be "reanimated" are some of the crowd favorites among the 5000 denizens of this rambling aquarium. It takes you on a journey from the source of the Spree River to the North Sea and on to tropical waters. Tickets are cheaper online.
Visits normally conclude with a slow lift ride through the Aquadom, a 25m-high cylindrical tropical fish tank. It was closed for renovation when we visited. Check the website for updates.
