Blink and you’ll miss the doorway leading to the Sophie-Gips-Höfe, a former sewing-machine factory built around a trio of courtyards linking Sophienstrasse and Gipsstrasse. In the second courtyard, Erika Hoffmann resides, surrounded by high-caliber contemporary art that she and her late husband Rolf collected for decades. On Saturdays she opens her home for 90-minute tours (book ahead online or by phone).
