Brooding over the riverbed like a giant beetle, its shell shimmering with translucent mosaic tiles, this ultramodern performing-arts complex at the north end of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias has four auditoriums and a softening level of plants poking out from under the ceramic exoskeleton. Outside performance times, you can't enter except by guided visits. These run five times daily in Spanish and English. Book via the website.
For a little extra, tours can attend a half-hour rehearsal if there's one programmed.
