New Synagogue

Like the Old Synagogue, the New Synagogue was also built in the 14th century; both are among the greatest Jewish Gothic monuments in Europe. The New Synagogue contains an exhibit on the Forgotten Sopronians – the 40 Jewish families that perished during WWII. Descriptions are in Hungarian only, but the enthusiastic curator tells their story in German and broken English.
