Museum of Piping

Glasgow's Museum of Piping, part of the National Piping Centre, covers the history of the Highland bagpipes, with several fine historic pieces on display including pipes dating from the 18th century. There are also instruments from Europe's other piping countries, including Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Spanish and Italian bagpipes.

The exhibition is open throughout the week (£5), but it's worth timing your visit with the Meet the Piper guided tours, when you can have a go on the pipes yourself at noon on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, provided there's no private event booked (call ahead to check).
