Museum of Himachal Culture & Folk Art

Just across from the Hidimba Devi Temple, the Museum of Himachal Culture & Folk Art (himachalmuseum.in; ₹30) is a good place to get familiar with the artistic and cultural traditions of Himachal Pradesh. Although the collection here is compact, it’s worth giving yourself at least half an hour to check out its displays, which include everything from fossils to weaponry to examples of traditional dress. There's a heavy emphasis on architecture, with old columns on display along with model houses and temples illustrating the kath-kuni style.
