Within this museum and cultural centre, the highlight is a 19th-century pharmacy, elegantly panelled in walnut and wild cherry wood. Upstairs, French-language interactive exhibits focus on the architecture, history and natural history of the Haute-Loire.
Keep an eye on the website for temporary exhibitions. In recent years the Hôtel-Dieu has displayed work by riveting contemporary artists, and hosted a major Picasso exhibition.
