Colette, author of La Maison de Claudine and Gigi, lived until the age of 18 in the tiny town of St-Sauveur-en-Puisaye, 40km southwest of Auxerre. The Musée Colette, in the village château, displays letters, manuscripts, two furnished rooms from her apartment in Paris’ Palais Royal, and photos featuring her iconic hairdo.
