Munch Museum

Opened in 2021 as a replacement for its predecessor in Tøyen, this 13-floor behemoth is dedicated to Norway's greatest artist, Edvard Munch (1863–1944). The museum houses the largest collection of his work in the world: some 28,000 items, including 1100 paintings and 4500 watercolours, most gifted to the city by Munch himself. The museum also shows temporary exhibitions by international artists such as Alice Neel and Admir Batlak.
