Mirador Alauta

Park your car and start at the 1 Sendero de los Hornillos, a very obvious access trail into the reserve. It's about a 1.5km walk along sections of the Río Pozo Verde to the 2 Olla Previa a la Cascada, a swimming pond where you can refresh. But you should save your energy to walk the next 2km to the 3 Cascada Los Hornillos. The sloshing falls feed a large, deep, cold-water pool hemmed by a scenic amphitheater of rocks, where, in summer, you'll find locals enjoying the day. Be careful if you fancy following them as they jump off the tall boulders on the left side of the falls. Most visitors swim and then retrace their steps back to headquarters from here, but only about 300m further, after a steep climb (enjoy views of the falls from above), is the 4 Olla del Puma, a more secluded swimming spot. Once you are rinsed, keep following the river bends past the 5 Piedras de Alondra formation
