Run by the Bundeswehr (German armed forces), this museum spreads its wings over a military airfield used by both the Nazis and the British Royal Air Force. The permanent exhibit in Hangar 3 examines the evolution of military aviation in Germany from 1884 to the present day. Outside, dozens of fighter jets, bombers, reconnaissance aircraft, helicopters and air defense systems – mostly from the Cold War era – litter the runway, including a Russian MiG-21 and an Antonov An-14.
The museum is about 10km south of central Spandau. Take bus 135 from S- or U-Bahn Rathaus Spandau to "Kurpromenade," then walk for 1km.
