Marimar Estate

Back in 1975, Marimar Torres was the rebel of her Catalan winemaking family, and moved to California – where she quickly spotted pinot potential in these hills. Today her Marimar Estates specializes in all-organic pinot – seven different kinds – plus cool-climate chardonnay and some Iberian surprises, including a stunning albariño. The hacienda-style hilltop tasting room has a vineyard-view terrace for picnics, and offers Catalan tapas-and-wine pairings ($55). The guided tour includes a current-release bottle ($95).
