In the rambling 1920s New Objectivity–style industrial halls of the former Kindl brewery, this nonprofit center presents changing international contemporary-art exhibits with a focus on social issues as well as lectures, meet-the-artist gatherings, readings and other educational programs. The coolest room is the Kesselhaus (boiler room), whose cathedral-like dimensions make it ideal for large-scale and site-specific installations. A cafe serves vegan snacks and drinks, and in fine weather there's a beer garden under the plane trees.
