Huating Temple

Towards the bottom of the mountain is Huating Temple, a country temple of the Nanzhao kingdom believed to have been constructed in the 11th century. It’s one of the largest in the province and its numerous halls are decorated with arhats.

From the metro station, walk about 3km up the main Xishan road (or catch the tourist bus, which picks up and drops off just outside the temple).
