Highly recommended guided tours of Hoover Dam begin here. Visitors can either take the 30-minute Power Plant tour or the more in-depth, one-hour Hoover Dam tour. On both tours, an elevator takes visitors 50 stories below to view the dam's massive generators, which could each power a city of 100,000 people. Tours include the $10 admission fee into the visitor center.
Tour tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and can only be purchased from the visitor center, with the exception of the Power Plant tour, which can be purchased online. Children under eight are not permitted on the Hoover Dam tour that visits the dam passageways.
