Højerup Gamle Kirke

Højerup Gamle Kirke in Stevns, Denmark. Surrounded by trees and cliffs.

Set on top of the cliffs at Stevn Klint is the jaw-droppingly precarious Højerup Gamle Kirke (Old Church), built around 1250. The continuously eroding cliffs finally had their way with the church in 1928, when the choir and part of the cemetery crashed into the sea. The reinforced remainder has a dramatic viewing platform where the altar once stood.
