A 7.5-mile circular hiking-and-biking trail that forms part of the Mineral Tramways network, and winds past several engine houses and mining ruins dotted around Carn Brea.
The trail roughly follows the course of the Great Flat Lode – a rich seam of tin ore discovered here in the 1860s, so-called because it ran at a gradient of 30 degrees, rather than the usual 70, and was thus much easier to mine.
The most useful place to start is at Heartlands, where there's plenty of space to leave your car.
