Idyllic Fourcès (the 's' is pronounced), 13km northwest of Condom, is justifiably reckoned France's prettiest villages thanks to a unique layout in which its well-preserved stone houses and 13th-century bell tower form a near-perfect circle.
The village bursts into color during the last weekend of April for its Marché aux Fleurs, more a flower festival than a market. At other times there is little to do beyond admiring the architecture and tasting Armagnac at the village distillery-shop.
