Etnografiska Museet

Opposite Tekniska on Ladugårdsgärdet is another gem of a museum. Etnografiska Museet (The Museum of Ethnography) stages evocative displays on global cultures, including dynamic temporary exhibitions and frequent live performances. You could spend hours alone pouring over the 6000 treasures in its Storeroom exhibition. The collection of bronze masterpieces from Benin are a sight to behold. It also has a project to highlight new perspectives on Africa, including fascinating details about Swedes of African origin. Its restaurant Matmekka serves authentic Asian dishes and in summer there's a Japanese teahouse outside where you can experience an authentic tea ceremony.
