Within sight of the Hofburg, this elegant and regal cafe has a gorgeous rococo-period salon, but you will first be dazzled by its decadent window displays. Demel’s specialities include the Annatorte (a calorie-bomb of cream and nougat) and the Fächertorte (with apples, walnuts, poppy seeds and plum jam). Its "small bites" menu, from egg dishes to baguettes to sweet Kaiserschmarrn (shredded fluffy pancake), makes it a delectable place at which to fuel up.
