Inside Great Castle House, this volunteer-run regimental museum traces the history of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (doubly royal!) from its 16th-century militia origins to its current role as the senior regiment of the reserve army, all within a cupboard-sized space. There is little beyond a shell to Monmouth Castle next door, despite it being the birthplace of King Henry V.
Closed until April 2021 due to Covid-19.
