This austere and atmospheric castle was built by the Knights Templar in the early 14th century on Arab foundations and later became home to Pedro de Luna ("Papa Luna," the deposed Pope Benedict XIII). There are various exhibits and videos on Templar history, and utterly magnificent sea views. Entry includes a visit to a nearby former cannon outpost converted into a garden.
