The Picture Gallery shelters Frederick the Great's prized collection of Old Masters, including such pearls as Caravaggio's Doubting Thomas, Anthony van Dyck's Pentecost and several works by Peter Paul Rubens. Behind the rather plain facade awaits a sumptuous interior of gilded ornamentation, yellow and white marble floors and rich stuccowork that is perhaps just as impressive as the mostly large-scale paintings that cover practically every inch of wall space.
