This gallery in a converted glass warehouse is a superb spot for getting the low-down on Berlin’s art scene from the dawn of modernism around 1880 until the 1980s. Downstairs, temporary exhibits highlight contemporary artists and trends, often in unconventional or even controversial fashion. Two cross-over floating staircases lead upstairs to the permanent exhibit, with works from art-world rock stars such as Otto Dix, Jeanne Mammen and Georg Baselitz.
If you have a ticket from the nearby Jewish Museum, you only pay the concession price if visiting on the same or the next two days. The deal also works the other way round.
