If you’re new to wine, head to Benziger for Sonoma Valley's best crash course in winemaking. The worthwhile tour (45 or 90 minutes; reserve online) includes an open-air tram ride (weather permitting) through biodynamic vineyards, wine-cave visit and five-wine tasting. Picnics come with panoramic views of green hills badly scorched by 2017 and 2019 fires, but already rebounding wonderfully. Benziger's large-production wine is OK (head for the estate reserves); the tour’s the thing. Bottles run $20 to $80.
