Altonaer Balkon

Some of Hamburg's best harbor views are found on the panoramic heights of the Altonaer Balkon (Altona Balcony). The park sits on a hilltop elevated 27m above the Elbe River, offering sweeping panoramas of the harbor hustle and Hamburg's skyline – see if you can pick out some of the notable buildings, for example, the Elbphilharmonie. The park's highest point is its main lookout terrace, but great views are abundant throughout. At sunset, the Balkon is a true hotspot for local life, from breezy picnics to scenic strolls along its roomy walking path.
