The original Checkpoint Charlie guardhouse, a Berlin airlift plane and a reconstructed spy tunnel are among the top exhibits at the Allied Museum. The permanent exhibit documents historical milestones and the challenges faced by the Western Allies during the Cold War. It covers the Allied victory, the early years of occupation and the Berlin airlift, then jumps headlong into the Cold War years when Berlin was a major spy capital, ending with reunification and the withdrawal of Allied forces in 1994.
The first part of the exhibit is housed in the former Outpost cinema for US troops. An original piece of the Berlin Wall sits in the yard. All signage is in English, French and German.
