This skinny street lined with gaudy souvenir shops is all that's left of what was once Granada's great bazaar (the Alcaicería), a claustrophobic warren of alleyways packed with stalls selling silks, spices and much more. The original bazaar was destroyed by fire in the 19th century and rebuilt in a much reduced form.
