Timber-and-plaster Aberconwy House is the town's oldest, built as one of 20 merchants' houses when the town was fortified around 1300. Over the years it has been a coffee house, temperance hotel, bakery and antique shop, but it remains surprisingly well preserved. An audiovisual presentation shows daily life from different periods of history. The National Trust shop downstairs has a good range of souvenirs and gifts.
