Plage de Clugny

Beach in Deshaies

Between Grande Anse and Ste-Rose, at the northern tip of Basse-Terre, is this dazzling stretch of golden sand lapped by jade waters that just beg to be swum in. It has views toward a dramatic islet in the bay and, beyond that, to Montserrat. Bar one little terrace restaurant at the far end of the beach, Plage de Clugny is totally undeveloped. Be very careful as the water can be rough.
