The name ‘Bonorong’ derives from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘native companion’ – look forward to seeing Tasmanian devils, koalas, wombats, echidnas and quolls at this impressive operation. The emphasis here is on conservation, education and the rehabilitation of injured animals. Nocturnal tours also available (adult/child from $160/85). The centre is about 17km west of Richmond: take Middle Tea Tree Rd, turn left into Tea Tree Rd after 11km, then left again onto Briggs Rd once you get to Brighton. Bonorong is on the left.
