At one of Yosemite's iconic falls, the thundering waters of the Merced River tumble 317ft down on the way to meet Yosemite Valley below. Mist Trail, the paved path to the falls, is one of the park's most popular. It gets extremely misty (hence the trail name) and wet along the 700 granite steps leading up to the falls.
