Its churchyard holds the remains of five Vermont governors, numerous American Revolution soldiers and poet Robert Frost (1874–1963) – the best-known, and perhaps best-loved, American poet of the 20th century – buried beneath the inscription 'I Had a Lover's Quarrel with the World.'
