Sunset Park is a lovely hangout spot. On summer evenings, families keep cool in its Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool, and kids love its large, modern playground. It's small enough to walk easily, but large enough to spread out for picnics and relaxation. True to its name, it features incredible sunset views of New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.
The park also boasts basketball and handball courts, as well as those ever-elusive public restrooms. It borders lively Fifth Ave, which is a goldmine of great restaurants, so you can either bring your own food for an alfresco meal, or grab some to go nearby.
