Devil’s Golf Course

Some 12 miles south of Furnace Creek is the turnoff to the otherworldly Devil's Golf Course where salt has piled up into saw-toothed miniature mountains in what was once a major lake that evaporated about 2000 years ago. A 1.3-mile gravel road takes you right into this bizarre landscape from Badwater Rd. You're free to walk around on the jagged surface, but don't expect to tee up.
