During Worcester's golden age, its captains of industry bestowed largess upon the town. The Worcester Art Museum, off Main St, remains a generous and impressive bequest. The museum's unexpected and comprehensive collection ranges from ancient Egyptian artifacts to European masterworks and contemporary American pieces, including Paul Revere silverwork. It also has a wild collection of medieval armor. Admission is free on the first Sunday of the month.
