Slip and Slide Inside a Volcano

Krakatau Aqua Coaster is widely regarded as the best ride in Volcano Bay. Tucked inside the water park’s iconic volcano Krakatau, this aqua coaster will have you racing through the dark corners and misty nooks on a four-person canoe before finally crashing through a waterfall for a final drenching. Waits can get very lengthy – we're talking hours – but with the TapuTapu wristbands, you don't physically have to wait in line. You can enjoy Waturi Beach and the two lazy(ish) rivers in the meantime. Regardless, you'll want to prioritize the Krakatau Aqua Coaster in your virtual queue. Must be 42in to ride.

Take to the Kid-Friendly Splash Pads

If you have tots and toddlers in your group, Runamukka Reef and Tot Tiki Reef will be your go-to areas in Volcano Bay. With geysers and water slides, spraying fountains and water cannons, your little ones will have the times of their lives.

Laze away the Day on Two Lazy(ish) Rivers

No water park day would be complete without a float on a lazy river – and Volcano Bay has two. The first, Kopiko Wai Winding River, is your traditional lazy river, with a calm current and colorful pool inner tubes. By contrast, you’ll need to suit up in a life jacket before getting tossed and turned on not-so-lazy TeAwa, the Fearless River, a white-water river.

Soak up the Sun on Waturi Beach

While you can drive outside Orlando to explore popular beaches like Cocoa Beach and those in Clearwater, Waturi Beach is a fantastic spot to sit back and relax while still staying inland. Facing towering Krakatau, it’s ideal for suntanning, swimming and giving your body an adrenaline-free break.

Hit the Drop Slides

Volcano Bay has quite a few drop slides, ideal for thrill-chasers. The Ko’okiri Body Plunge drops guests down a 125ft slide at a 70° angle, so it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. On the slightly less intense Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides, you and a partner can race to the bottom at breakneck, water-splashing speed.

Swap Drop Slides for Raft Rides

Not quite ready for the heart-in-your-throat-level drop slides? No problem! Take to Volcano Bay’s raft rides instead. While there are a few raft rides scattered throughout the park, the pair that make up Honu & Ika Moana Slides are widely regarded as the best. Honu is the more thrilling of the two, while ika Moana is a gentler, more family-friendly option. Both raft rides allow up to five people at a time.
