On the north half of Union Sq, the city's best farmers market draws famous chefs and mere civilians, united in their love of seasonal bounty from farms around the city. Even if you won't be cooking, it's worth a visit for some of the artisanal goodies, such as breads, cheeses and cider. It's on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
