Immediately west of Turtle Bay Resort, Turtle Bay was named because of the green sea turtles that used to lay their eggs on the beach. Not any more, unfortunately. The beach is sandy, but offshore the bottom is rocky, making for poor swimming. This is a popular surf spot, however, and guests at the resort sometimes learn here.
