Tlacolula's main church is notable for its ornate baroque side-chapel, known colloquially as the Capilla de la Plata (Silver Chapel), a dazzling riot of indigenous-influenced decoration comparable to the Capilla del Rosario in Oaxaca’s Templo de Santo Domingo. Among the ceiling ornamentation, spot the plaster martyrs holding their own severed heads and the playful angels clutching various musical instruments.
